While I realize that women who have "junk" in their trunks wont feel comfortable wearing hotpants, there are alternative options that are short enough to show off some leg, without bringing on the uncomfortable feeling of having eyes staring hard at you. Such as thigh high shorts, that are not exactly at the knee - but between the upper knee and thigh. And they look great! You just have to go hunting around for the perfect pair of hotpants. And they dont require having your butt cheeks poking out of the rear end of your shorts. Good question!
