OMG…sweet mother of corns & bunions – her we go again! It’s like everything old is definitely new again. Then there are times when your past comes back to haunt you. Ahh…where should I start? I swear growing up in NYC wasn’t a joke. Especially if you were a kid….fagetaboutit! Any who, I remember it like it was yesterday…I was in the 5th grade when L.A. Gear sneakers was the staple piece to own. Geez, and if you were a girl wearing nothing less than L.A. Gear – you were pretty much of an outsider. Yup, and I was automatically thrown in the “outsider” category because I didn’t own a pair. Thus leaving me lusting after those multi – colored hues, rhinestone set, & faux leather combed sneakers like it was a plate of seafood. Shoot as a kid you pretty much want everything that everyone has….and believe it or not that notion still remains the same as an adult. And while my mother threw up the peace sign on splurging on that $100 price point (at the time), I’ll gladly thank her for teaching me a valuable lesson that trends do indeed come and go. Even if it’s for a short spell. Since 2004, L.A. Gear has walked out of the shadow of chapter 11, and has decided to tighten up their laces for another go. I can’t front….the only L.A. Gear sneaker to snag my attention is the Stardust model (preferably the Lollipop & Kid Fireball styles). If you ever mention L.A. Gear’s to anyone,  it will automatically bring up a serious conversation piece that may last hours. Trust me I should know. Anyway, check out the stats after the jump!
