Summer 2009 Swimsuit Trend Report

What’s up ladies? I know that some of you are getting ready to hit the highway later on today…thanks in part to the Memorial Day holiday. Which means that this weekend is the unofficial start to the summer season. Which means that many of us (including my damn self) needs to get ready to slip my body in a bathing suit. Would you believe it has been years since I put my body into an actual suit? YES! Your girl has shied herself away from the two-piece swimsuits. I don’t know why I always shy away from bikini’s…then again I (personally) feel like it’s equivalent to walking around on the sand in a bra and panties for goodness sake. I’ve always been a one-piece kind of gal. But I can’t front…I have been always curious as to know if I could actually pull off wearing a bikini. OMG…this may sound kind of crazy …shoot – it might even sound tacky – but my sister and I found ourselves wandering around Saks Fifth Avenue only to stare hard at bathing suits for about 45 minutes straight. But it didn’t just stop at staring…we spent time cracking up over the $500+ price points marked on Missoni sets & Burberry clad suits wondering why in the hell would anyone flip a bill on such a small piece of clothing. I think swimwear should have some limits. Now that I think about it, wouldn’t it just be cheaper to hit a nude beach? Ahh…but then again who wants to see franks, beans, & watermelon sized body parts floating around…right? Ok…so I am getting off track for a moment! I know that the economy has pretty much put everyone in a prozac state of mind at the prior moment, but we can’t languish in the negative vibes CNN & MSNBC tends to pitch at us on a regular basis. Let’s clear our minds and think smart & live life little! This season there are tons of selection in a variety of colors, cuts, & styles suitable for even the most body conscience. Trend reporters have been on the scene – forecasting the usual florals, ruffled, & pleated theme attire…but I’ve got you gals covered. Check out some of my favorite picks from various online spots.
