Trend Files #050 | Is Rihanna Really A Cut Above The Rest?
So basically yesterday I spent the entire day in front of the computer screen drawing a total blank. And if you follow me on Twitter you may understand why! But aside from the spur of the moment memory loss….and dazed & confused look on my face, I browsed through my various photo accounts only to take a close view at our girl Rihanna. I don’t know about you but I’ve realized that this season – notable women have found themselves itching to be buzzed cut. Could it be the humidity that has everyone ready to take off a piece of their locks? Or has euro trends finally found itself embedded in the skulls of our favorite celebrities. I’m saying….even Carmen Electra shaved both sides of her hair…(BTW isn’t she kind of old to be doing this?). Anyway, I am curious as to know if head shaving is the new black? Shoot, I’ve had my head shaved for the past how many years? Not to mention I’ve heard every negative response known to man, woman, & child. But as far as Rihanna goes….everyone is loving her new do – which I think is still unfinished if you asked me! Is Hollywood really taking this trend a little bit too far? Who else will be following in on this disaster of a trend….(because you know damn well this look isn’t for everyone)? I wonder if Rihanna has any idea that by next week her newly shaved cut has to be maintained? Let’s be real ladies….her recent hair stylist has been butchering her look over the last few months! i’m starting to feel like she’s trumping Assie on a coincidence level. when naked photos of cassie came out, so did ones of rihanna, and when they did no one was checking for cassie. then this.
idk Tee, i have no clue whats going on in hollyhood. seems like everyone is trying so hard to do this or that better than another that they stop doing themselves. it’s kind of sad.
as far as the cut is concerned, this is probably the first time since the new Rihanna popped up that i’m not feeling it. it just seems forced, like she’s trying too hard to be edgy because everyone caught up to her game and is trying ‘edgy’ on for size.

SO DAMN TRUE DEE SH*T RIHANNA IS REALLY GETTING WACK.BAD ENOUGH THIS CHICK CANT SING THAT GREAT BUT SHE IS MAKING MORE MONEY BEING PUT IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA AND WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH HER NAILS? I REALLY THINK THAT RIHANNA HAS STEPPED INTO THE DARK SIDE PERMANENTLY.
Rihanna basically has the same haircut realistically folks which i thing looks great. Perhaps she should have not let Ursula Stephen touch her hair and let an actual barber do the job? Rihanna needs a taper and decent fade and she will be all set.

I dont think anything is wrong with Rhi’s cut per say I just feel like its been done to death now. Kelis did it best a few years ago, I even had it back summer of 07, Cassie, LaLa…..I just feel like since people “think” Rhianna is a trendsetter she should start setting some trends and stop just following them all.
I dont know but it still needs some fixing! Like a nice LINE UP! UGH I am so tired of seeing these drastic hair cuts but no definition to it! You know…it looks like someone put a bowl on Rihanna head then cut around it! And I am not sure if she knows that she better have some perm on stash to get the new growth! Seriously…especially if she wants it to look natural with the weave that she has on top of her head. Its obvious Rihanna’s hair is DAMAGED! Straight down to the bone! I can tell…whew
@ Khrryssy….what Rihanna donated her hair to charity? Are you serious? The ashy mess in the back she donated to charity? What are they gonna use the hair for? Eyebrows? EEK…I’m just sayin! She donated her obviously damaged (beyond repair) hair for charity. Shoot maybe I need to get on the charity bandwagon. I’ve got hair I can spare….(once it grows out..lol).

IDK…it’s okay but I do agree with Dee and Tee. She’s beginning to wear out her welcome in the spotlight! It looks okay, but there is no definition and it’s like she’s just trying to 1 up everybody on trends. I just hope whenever her new album comes out it is fire, because all this is really downplaying her actual career.
