Oh brother…..I hope that you ladies are having a fabulous Tuesday afternoon! Alright so I’ve been busy (yet again), which has been leaving me dragging my feet at doing my work. And I’ve got too much to talk about….way too much, but I really don’t know where to start. Alright, that’s a bold face lie…let’s start off with our favorite intern Kanye West. I don’t know if you guys know that Kanye is back to his dreams of being a fashion designer. According to The Chicago Tribune, West has been interning at the Gap offices this summer. Working side by side with friend/creative director Patrick Robinson – West has been burning the midnight oil at the Gap headquarters. Rumored reports say that Kanye is looking forward to launching a clothing line with the Gap, and while it’s not yet confirmed we can only imagine what our khaki pants, and button downs will look like in the near future. Will us ladies have mass produced outfits spun out of spandex reminiscent of Yeezy’s girlfriend Amber Rose? I hope not! But what really bothers me most about celebrity clad collaborations is the mere fact that this is creating a saturation of “spur of the moment” trends. Thus leaving me to believe that this helps widen the dark abyss of what we call fashion at the prior moment. Mass celebrity marketing…and 15 minute appeal has butchered the fashion food chain for the past few years. While current fashion students bite at the ankles of fashion houses trying to get their feet wet….celebrities such as Kanye can willfully walk right in without a care in the world. What will this do to potential internships in the near future? Will post-grads have a shot at being hired to furnish their talent & skill or will they have to make a name for themselves before actually getting a chance to show off their potential? This is a question that needs some answering. Ladies what do you think about Kayne’s current venture with the Gap? Do we love it? Or should Kanye sit his ass down and give someone else who really as talent a fair shot?

Tee you already know what I’m about to say. Celebrity clothing lines are killing fashion. I’m not sure if this is his attempt to do something low end but it’ll be a failed attempt. Have you SEEN the price on some damn khaki’s from GAP. And now with this dudes name on it, I’m sure we can add $30 to the overall sum. No doubt he’s a talented guy, but i’m not excited to see his collabo with GAP. I think his work with LV was less than favorable, so I’m not on it…NO MAS!
when you have money you can do just about anything. you dont have to go to design school or know much but if you know the right people your in! yeah i feel pissed like the next fashion designer that wannabes like kanye get the go ahead on fun projects and even internships while hard wording everyday people struggle to make it in this materialistic world. but what can you really do when your not famous or neither rich?
are you for real with this news cuz i am so tired of these celebrities. im jus sayin notice how tinsel town is mad little? like on every blog every news report you see the same tired ass faces. and kanye is lame & an ultimate fail!!!!!!!!!!!!! i barely seen anyone rockin those lv kix only his fellow celebrity groupies. his air yeezy joints were wack and way over priced and now he is ready to kill everyones pockets with the gap? with it already being overpriced as it is. watch everyone start rocking hand me downs quick fast.
Who are you telling….I am sick of it already! Girl why do you think that I told you that I am SO BORED with the scene right now? BORING! We need NEW TALENT, NEW FACES, NEW EVERYTHING! Straight back to the drawing board!
OMG… if another celebrities gets a fashion line i am kill myself… POW POW… another no talented celeb has one. But seriously WTF can he really offer to the gap. The gap is FAR from eccentric and I am not seeing it. What happen to Pastel or whatever he was gonna call it. I guess his name sells. He needs to go back to “not really interning”
I co-sign with all of you! This is getting ridiculous! I Heard on Wendy Williams that Tyra is getting Lauren Conrad and Kim Kardashian to be guest judges on ANTM. Really?! what do these broads know about the high fashion modeling industry? It’s like you either have to be a rapper, make a sex tape, or be on a reality show to get where you need to get to in life! Everybody in the fashion industry is getting really lazy with it for real!

Wow! I hope hes just interning… I mean it will be interning how to make boring and overpriced clothes (sorry I don’t shop or even look in the Gap) but I hope he isn’t designing for them. It’s getting to be too much! I hope also he isnt taking the spot of a real intern, they may let him have special access (although not right) but still no real student gets cut. But if what you are saying A the Great is true about Kim K and Lauren Conrad that is very sad. But I said this on a newer post, when people start speaking up and telling them to stop hiring names and get back to talent then this madness will hopefully end.
Yet another reason to keep me out of the Gap. Haven’t been in there in 2 years. They are grabbing at straws because their business is at a crossroads. The Gap enterprise could go under or just make it by the skin of it’s teeth. They are clearly desperate at this point. They need to take it back to Day One and lower their price point which they seem very stubborn about doing! Dear Gap: Kanye can not save you (especially after that VMA stunt), he will only get you there sooner.
