’09 Trend Flashback #002 | Was Amber Rose 2009’s “It” Girl?
OK! Let’s rewind to about February of this year….when Kanye West was spotted working the scene during New York fashion week in hand with a tall statuesque -head shaven Amber Rose. The internet went crazy looking to find out more about the buxom beauty. I know for a mere fact that I spend hours googling as much info about her only to see pictorials of Rose in Smooth magazine. The Philly native is no stranger on getting noticed. She’s managed to become an overnight celebrity, thanks to Kanye West of course (before his epic fail MTV Video Music Awards stunt). Through the wire and back, Amber has set sail in the realm of high society – being featured in Elle magazine, inking a deal with Ford Models, and now she works the scene headlining various parties throughout the country. Aside from gaining a following of admirers Amber also has a handful of sharp-shooters who say that her 15 minutes of fame is up. But we totally doubt if her 15 minutes has yet to expire, Rose’s sense of style is truly off the hook! Giving you a dose of that “tomboyish/ around the way girl” glam we can’t help but to love what she has in store for us come 2010.

I’m sorry, but I think I’d call Gaga the fashion It girl for 2009. Come on! Even before she had the money to wear her really out there outfits she was dressing crazy. And everyone has been affected by her fashion in a way that no one has by a celebrity in a long time. You can’t say this about Amber Rose, as fashionable as she is.

I think you’re reaching. Amber Rose is what I call \the no-taste-trend-follower\. There is a difference between dressing \fashionably\ and having taste. She has no taste, which I am sorry to report because she is a very pretty girl but she is seriously lacking in the taste category. So no she wasn’t the it girl of 2009. If anything I would say either Camilla Belle or Emma Watson those to almost always look well put and gorgeous.
