Ok, work with me ladies….your girl has been really preparing for something major in my life, and I can’t share it with you until NEXT WEEK! OMG so excited…but I had hoped everything would have been completed by this week. But next week, I will finally share with you my big secret. Alright, so any who….I have been on a mission to really get down to business on Lindsay Lohan. Granted her tumultuous affair with Samantha Ronson always manages to catch serious air time over the internet highway – but you and I both know that we could care less. In fact, what is more important is the fact that La-Lohan has been spotted on a series of occasion rocking what may seem (to the naked eye) a pair of hideous over the top lace up Gladiator boots. After much heavy debate between myself and my cousin, we’ve both agreed that the gladiator boot trend has killed itself softly….and slowly since last year. And Alaia didn’t make things better by creating these $2,700 (a pop) zippered back/lace up front gladiator sandals. I’m still wondering which poor cow died at the mercy of such an awkward concept? Ah…but don’t get things twisted, I’ve already had a full blow conversation…yet again with a few cohorts who begged to differ on my Alaia down play – only to yell flat out, clearly stating that Lindsay Lohans boots are indeed and I quote “ SHEER GENIUS….A MARVEL…AND IF I HAD THE MONEY TO BLOW ON A PAIR I WOULD”. Which led me to wonder how many other women find these boots appealing…the question is – “If given the opportunity to cop these Alaia Lace Up Gladiators….would you “Shop It or straight Stop it” and why? Back in May everyone was going ape shit over Unkie Karl’s mysterious “Karl Who?” canvas bag. If there is one thing that we should know about Karl Lagerfeld- is that he is a marketing genius. Sure, why not let the photo hungry paparazzi snap shots, sending subliminal messages to the fashion deprived. First the tote….now the T-shirt! Unkie Karl was spotted shopping on the streets of Saint Tropez with a few of his sexy boy toys…(can’t be mad at that). But we should all wonder when will theses ‘Karl Who?’ pieces will find themselves neatly stacked on shelves. So far the “Karl Who” t-shirt and tote look pretty basic, so I am wondering if they will come with somewhat of a basic price point? Only time will tell! More Views After The Jump!
Side Note: The T-shirt is available now (in both black & blue print font) via Colette

Geez, If I didn’t know any better – I’d think that the recession has really kept some of our favorite designers limited in thought. And while we can sit back and chuckle professing our affinity towards big Vogue recommended names (which half of the time we don’t even know how to pronounce them correctly)…the majority of us find amusement behind over the top price points – even in the midst of a global financial crisis. The 80’s trend has died slow as far as I’m concerned! And think that in the last two years, we did a good job of putting the final cut on things. Hence Alexander Wang, who has managed to bring back circa 2005’s “It-trend” thanks in part to a stellar collection of pre-fall accessories. But when it comes down to actual ready-to-wear garments…there are SOME things that I really don’t get when it comes down to the “Wangster”. And this has to be one of those”I don’t get it” moments. Don’t get me wrong…I totally love the idea of rocking corduroy. In fact, I’ve grown up rocking cords to the point where I thought that my flesh would soon develop intricate polyester blend lines – followed by that annoying “stitch-stitch” sound that comes with sporing corduroy anythings. Even still, I never thought that nappa leather would EVER find itself married all together with corduroy! Ah…alas comes the $688 price tag that makes my eyes blink hard in the process of it all. I’m quite sure that the hipsters will max out their checking accounts for a pair of these. Are we loving it? Available now via Luisaviaroma.com – more views after the jump!

Ok, so I didn’t fully watch the BET Awards show – that’s because I was sucked into the realms of “True Blood”…(love that show). But when I did tune in for a short spell…Jay-Z rocked the mic with his “Death Of The Autotune” song. I did catch a quick glimpse of Soulja Boy…turning his swag on, then a usual (like with any award show) I normally change the channel. And you ladies know that we are more concerned with what some of our favorite celebrities were rocking out on the red carpet. Let’s face it….some times the BET award show brings out the buffoonery. And the one thing that will ALWAYS manage to throw me in for a loop – is to see celebrities (who indeed have some cash to burn) waste away in mortifying ensembles. It’s the kind of thing that makes you want to throw up the “bitch slap hand” on both the stylist & celebrity. If you don’t believe me check out some of the crazy highlights…of who wore what on the BET red carpet…after the jump!

Hey Ladies….let me just say that I am sorry for being missing for a few days. I have been so busy working behind the scenes on various projects. But I am back now, everything will be back to normal by this weekend! So this week, I had a series of interesting conversation with a few girlfriends of mind – who are avid shoppers of La Perla & Agent Provacateur. And while I still take joy in raiding Victoria Secret sales, the debate lead on to a full blow argument over expensive bras versus cheap bras. Yes….and I am so not kidding! My girlfriends stood by their conviction claiming that their over priced under “boobie holders” last way longer than low priced undergarments. But I had to put down the “iron fist” on that notion! I’ve always believe that the quality of all undergarments are on the same level, no matter the price point. My friends naturally begged to differ also claiming that cheap bra’s are cheap looking and ugly…(blank stare). The only exception ( I can see past) given to higher price points on bras – are for women of a larger bust line. I just can’t see myself slapping down $250 on a lace bra & $150 for a pair of underwear! It’s just not happening! So I chuckled and laughed….thinking that I needed a few opinions to this topic from women outside of my circle. Ladies do you think that expensive is always to the way to go in regards to the bras? Or have women been trained to think so over the past few years? Check out some of my bra picks under $50 before you decide….after the jump of course!

Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday ladies….your girl has been scrambling around town in preparation of my big day. And in the midst of it all, I’ve been stressed! Like usual my brain tends to go right…then straight back to left in regards to this seasons most notable trends. If anything we’ve pretty much eye balled the latest trends only to throw some shade in dismay, or give the whimsical eye on certain things. One trend in particular really has me scratching my head…wondering if trend forecasters have really taken the time to fully observe the “Strong Shoulder” look. We’ve seen the look attempted by only a few celebrities. Now I can’t say that I will be one to roll with this one particular trend, but Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney along with a list of other top tiered designers have taken the chance on bringing the “Golden Girls” look back in full throttle. However, we can fully admit that this trend isn’t for everyone….especially if you have poor posture. And let’s face it….how many of us really pay attention to how much we slouch on a daily basis? I know for a fact that I don’t realize it, unless I am standing in front of a huge mirror. How do you ladies feel about this trend? And if given the chance would you consider giving it a test run?

There is no doubt that the recession has given new meaning to shopping as we know it. So much so that we’ve all culminated a full list of “what to buys” fully set within a certain budget. Now that I think of it….anyone who lives in NYC knows that before you slap money aside for monthly bills – shopping expenses have their own set budget. Naturally, I’ve taken a step back on the usual spur-of-the-moment lapse of shopping judgment…just to assess my financial situation in full. Why? Because realistically it’s smart to do so….and I’ve given myself a budget of $300. Now that may sound like a whole lot of money for some….and there are some would spend $300 in a blink of an eye. But let’s just say you were given $300, do you think that you could pull off an entire ensemble (plus adding accessories into the mix)? I think that you can!
