Ahhhh yes, another Amber Rose moment! I am sorry this girl is addictive! From the short blonde Caesar haircut, highly glossed puckered lips, straight down to her imperfect toes – there is something about this girl that EVERYONE (including myself) would like to know more about. Last month, I spoke about Amber Rose inking a deal with Ford Models. A month later…the ink has dried (only for god knows how long) and Rose is in motion of representing one of the power heavy weights in the modeling game. So what do we actually know about Amber Rose? Good question…..other than being a former stripper (from alleged reports), being dubbed as a lesbian (yet again these are all from alleged reports), and already stapled a video vixen in addition to linking up with Kanye West (which is we’ve all seen for the past 6 months) what do we really know about Amber Rose? Ummm…nothing! Truth be told – I seldom watch TV so I can’t say that I’ve seen her in any music videos, nor do I read Smooth Magazine – thus leaving me in the dark about her semi nude spread. But I did so happen listen to Amber Rose on Sirius Radio’s Shade 45’s Lip Service – where the bi racial beauty gave us some insight on her sexual activities (which I really didn’t care much about). But is that all she is….a sex pot? Which leaves me wonder….will she or can she stand on her own merit at Ford Models? Let’s be clear….she is basically a dinosaur in the modeling food chain. At 26 years old…what other alternatives does she have other than print? Does her body fit the requirements for the runway? Can she really be the next Cover Girl ? Goodness, if I didn’t think that being a woman was hard enough, there are some people who appreciate the fact that Eve robbed us of our chance at peace and serenity here on earth. Ok, work with me ladies….your girl has been really preparing for something major in my life, and I can’t share it with you until NEXT WEEK! OMG so excited…but I had hoped everything would have been completed by this week. But next week, I will finally share with you my big secret. Alright, so any who….I have been on a mission to really get down to business on Lindsay Lohan. Granted her tumultuous affair with Samantha Ronson always manages to catch serious air time over the internet highway – but you and I both know that we could care less. In fact, what is more important is the fact that La-Lohan has been spotted on a series of occasion rocking what may seem (to the naked eye) a pair of hideous over the top lace up Gladiator boots. After much heavy debate between myself and my cousin, we’ve both agreed that the gladiator boot trend has killed itself softly….and slowly since last year. And Alaia didn’t make things better by creating these $2,700 (a pop) zippered back/lace up front gladiator sandals. I’m still wondering which poor cow died at the mercy of such an awkward concept? Ah…but don’t get things twisted, I’ve already had a full blow conversation…yet again with a few cohorts who begged to differ on my Alaia down play – only to yell flat out,  clearly stating that Lindsay Lohans boots are indeed and I quote “ SHEER GENIUS….A MARVEL…AND IF I HAD THE MONEY TO BLOW ON A PAIR I WOULD”.  Which led me to wonder how many other women find these boots appealing…the question is – “If given the opportunity to cop these Alaia Lace Up Gladiators….would you “Shop It or straight Stop it” and why? Back in May everyone was going ape shit over Unkie Karl’s mysterious “Karl Who?” canvas bag. If there is one thing that we should know about Karl Lagerfeld- is that he is a marketing genius. Sure, why not let the photo hungry paparazzi snap shots, sending subliminal messages to the fashion deprived. First the tote….now the T-shirt! Unkie Karl was spotted shopping on the streets of Saint Tropez with a few of his sexy boy toys…(can’t be mad at that). But we should all wonder when will theses ‘Karl Who?’ pieces will find themselves neatly stacked on shelves. Geez, If I didn’t know any better – I’d think that the recession has really kept some of our favorite designers limited in thought. And while we can sit back and chuckle professing our affinity towards big Vogue recommended names (which half of the time we don’t even know how to pronounce them correctly)…the majority of us find amusement behind over the top price points – even in the midst of a global financial crisis. The 80’s trend has died slow as far as I’m concerned! And think that in the last two years, we did a good job of putting the final cut on things. Hence Alexander Wang, who has managed to bring back circa 2005’s “It-trend” thanks in part to a stellar collection of pre-fall accessories. But when it comes down to actual ready-to-wear garments…there are SOME things that I really don’t get when it comes down to the “Wangster”. And this has to be one of those”I don’t get it” moments. Don’t get me wrong…I totally love the idea of rocking corduroy. In fact, I’ve grown up rocking cords to the point where I thought that my flesh would soon develop intricate polyester blend lines – followed by that annoying “stitch-stitch” sound that comes with sporing corduroy anythings. Even still, I never thought that nappa leather would EVER find itself married all together with corduroy! Ah…alas comes the $688 price tag that makes my eyes blink hard in the process of it all. Hey ladies, your girl is back on track. I definitely needed a little vacation. And just because I was away for a while doesn’t mean that I have kept my head in the sand for the past couple of weeks. I’ve been scouting around on the web for some odds and ends. Did a little bit of shopping via Amazon….and then came the momentary brain zap of sneaker thoughts. And I’ll say that during the summer my mind goes through a temporary freeze in regards to kicks. Shoot…half of the time I’m trying to maintain the perfect set of toe nails fully coated in drug store bought nail enamel. You gals know that I am like a fly on the wall when it comes down to ultra bright hues. Often leaving me to really take full fledged note of my age. Thank you NIKE for making me realize that the ripe age of 30 isn’t too far off….and magnificent hues of purple,red,blue, & sax should always be kept on stash for those momentary events where I channel back to the age of 16. I don’t know if you ladies have every experienced this…..but I can tell you that I’ve been a victim of the random double take. Let’s face it…..when fashion is concerned….nothing is really exclusive! Only if you know that specific designer on a personal note…and they love you just that much to hook you up with a “1 of 1″ item that can not be copped at any store. And lastnight the red carpet was full of heat…thanks to my girl Amber Rose & Kanye West (who have to be the dopest couple fashion wise that I’ve seen thus far). Then Amerie hit the scene rocking the same long sleeve mini dress as seen on Amber Rose. My girlfriend called me lastnight just to tell me that both Amerie & Amber Rose were rocking Alexander McQueen lastnight. And while hear-say isn’t good enough information for me, I can’t fully confirm if this dress is indeed McQueen because I have yet to see it! And I’ve browsed through the collections…and haven’t seen this dress in stock any where. But I’ll take my friends advice for the moment! Either way, Amerie & Amber Rose worked the red carpet in the same dress, which I can imagine has to be the most embarrassing moment ever. But only one can reign supreme for the night….and I really think that Amber Rose busted things out as usual! Don’t get me wrong.. Amerie worked the hell out of her McQueen Pelle Leather Sandals – I just don’t think that her tiny frame filled out her entire ensemble well.
