Ok, so I didn’t fully watch the BET Awards show – that’s because I was sucked into the realms of “True Blood”…(love that show). But when I did tune in for a short spell…Jay-Z rocked the mic with his “Death Of The Autotune” song. I did catch a quick glimpse of Soulja Boy…turning his swag on, then a usual (like with any award show) I normally change the channel. And you ladies know that we are more concerned with what some of our favorite celebrities were rocking out on the red carpet. Let’s face it….some times the BET award show brings out the buffoonery. And the one thing that will ALWAYS manage to throw me in for a loop – is to see celebrities (who indeed have some cash to burn) waste away in mortifying ensembles. It’s the kind of thing that makes you want to throw up the “bitch slap hand” on both the stylist & celebrity. I don’t normally post sales on TrendDoll – but I am going to have to start making it a serious habit! I guess that my whirlwind of chores & upcoming preparations (which I can’t wait to share with you guys next month) have thrown my brain back a few miles away. I can’t front….I’ve been under the weather since Thursday! This Michael Jackson death has gotten to me harder than I expected. I don’t know why…but it has! Just sitting back and going through hundreds of flicks…I’ve watched his entire transformation from the 80’s till now. And seeing as though I am an 80’s baby, I feel like a chunk of my childhood has gone into the abyss. I’ll be the first to say that I’ve been balling my eyes out while listening to his music (especially Earth Song). His life/and career was no cake walk….and while his life will always be in heavy debate amongst my peers – I must say that I am totally ANGRY & UPSET that he is gone! Death is apart of our life cycle, and I might sound like a basket case right now…but I feel that everyone on the web has been hypocritical about Michael Jackson from the gate. Calling him all types of names…”wako jacko”…pedophile…wanna be white..and the whole nine prior to his death! And I’ve even seen my own African-American community curse him to damnation when he was a live…and now these are the same people who want to “shuck and jive” up and down the streets of Harlem and say that he was the man & that he will be missed! Go figure! My mother always said that most people are really appreciated when death arises…and you know what she was right! I’ve never personally knew Michael Jackson, but have watched a man perform effortlessly for years as far back as I can remember. Despite his larger than life smile, and numerous transformations in the physical sense – he was obviously sadden behind the bright lights, paparazzi, and media ambushing. But this goes to show that in reality how you can never really please people as a whole! But at least he went to a better place knowing that his work will always stand the test of time, despite what people have been saying about him for years So this weekend, I will be leaving featuring a series of Michael Jackson posts. Let me just say that I am floored and extremely sadden by today’s news. I took a early afternoon nap, only to wake up and see my blackberry lit up with emails of Michael Jackson being dead. I didn’t believe it. Bad enough I was some what upset about Farrah Fawcett’s passing, but to hear Michael Jackson being gone made it worse. I grabbed my remote control to see the news reports… and I ended up on MTV to see that the news was indeed true. Despite years of public scrutiny and allegations given to him in the past, this man will always be a musical legend….and I seriously doubt if anyone will EVER fill MJ’s shoes! According to reports, Jackson suffered cardiac arrest early Thursday afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. When the paramedics arrived to his home, Jackson had no pulse and were never able to get his pulse back. Michael Jackson is survived by his three children; Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson & Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II. R.I.P MJ WE LOVE YOU!!!

Hey Ladies….let me just say that I am sorry for being missing for a few days. I have been so busy working behind the scenes on various projects. But I am back now, everything will be back to normal by this weekend! So this week, I had a series of interesting conversation with a few girlfriends of mind – who are avid shoppers of La Perla & Agent Provacateur. And while I still take joy in raiding Victoria Secret sales, the debate lead on to a full blow argument over expensive bras versus cheap bras. Yes….and I am so not kidding! My girlfriends stood by their conviction claiming that their over priced under “boobie holders” last way longer than low priced undergarments. But I had to put down the “iron fist” on that notion! I’ve always believe that the quality of all undergarments are on the same level, no matter the price point. My friends naturally begged to differ also claiming that cheap bra’s are cheap looking and ugly…(blank stare). The only exception ( I can see past) given to higher price points on bras – are for women of a larger bust line. I just can’t see myself slapping down $250 on a lace bra & $150 for a pair of underwear! It’s just not happening! So I chuckled and laughed….thinking that I needed a few opinions to this topic from women outside of my circle. Ladies do you think that expensive is always to the way to go in regards to the bras? See it’s time like these where I wished that I lived in Paris. Simply because when my good friend Kristina got her hands on the latest Jeremy Scott x Longchamp “Phone Print” Le Pliage bag before anyone else – I gagged! Luckily, she had good seats at the Jeremy Scott Fall RTW ‘09 show and made out like a bandit with her front row parting gifts. Since we live on the western end of the planet, we can check out our bank balance right before clicking the mouse….thanks to Colette! It’s like the perfect marriage between Longchamp & J.Scott…why? Because we’ve seen in the past few seasons, our fair share of Jeremy Scott concoctions. First Jeremy Scott killed the scene with the poodle print, boot print, floral print & now telephone print Le Pilage tote. Cute enough to add some “ZaZa -Zoo” to our everyday ensembles.
