I swear the weather in NYC has been flip-flopping back and fourth. So much so, that I can’t seem to get a grip on what to buy for the summer. Now that I think about it, I’ve been waiting for the summer to hit since the first day of June. But that has yet to happen as of yet. Anyway, that doesn’t stop me from taking mental note of interesting kicks for us ladies. Fuctard has already mapped out a cool selection of new goodies worthy of some attention. A few months back, I was talking to one of my lovely full figured friends about plus sized garments, and how I totally hate the designs given to the majority of the collections out on the market. Either they feature tons of moo-moo inspired garbs, or hideous muted colors, which I would never dare offer even my worse enemy. Either way, my good friend Sarah Conely & I went on to talk about Gossip’s front woman Beth Ditto and how we totally adore her. Seeing as though half of the time my head is buried deep in the sand…it came to much surprise when I heard rumors about Ditto teaming up with British retail chain store Evans (back in January). Ditto has already become a fashion icon in her own right, donning high end brands with the purest of ease – ignoring the negative reactions of some starch fashionista’s who feel that Beth’s style is a little bit too much to handle. Coming July 9th Ditto’s collection will drop (two weeks after The Gossips new album release), which features a series of 80’s glam-rock inspired pieces. And if you think that this collection is made for the Hollywood emaciated body types…please think again! The collection will be available only for sizes 14-32 (10-24 US sizes). I’ve got to say that this has to be one of the most playful plus-sized collections seen thus far! Ladies how do you feel about the collection so far? Are we loving it? I heard that! Whatever the gossip blogs say….there is no denying that we are ALL intrigued by Miss Amber Rose. Her freshly bleached blonde Cesar hair cut will always be acknowledged as long as she is in the public eye. And while being in the spot light has it’s perks and down falls, Amber Rose obviously knows that she has to ride the wave for as long as it lasts. Already known for her relationship with the industry’s top artist…she’s managed to create her own identity with some backlash from nay sayers. News…is news no matter if it’s a day late! And while everyone pretty much broke their necks yesterday on latest headline in regards to Jimmy Choo teaming up with H&M, I really didn’t blink an eye lash when the news hit my blackberry. I don’t know what it is as of late, but I haven’t been really impressed by anything – fashion wise! I totally kid you not! I am not sure if my “Wow Factor” has been put on the back burner, simply because my focus is on ten billion other things. Or perhaps the recession has many of us (including myself) really focusing on the basics. Either way….I am not sure what to think about the collaboration with the Swedish power house. Come this November 14th (coincidentally my birthday), NYC folk can look forward to the “Rush” of die hard H&M fans to flock to their nearest location, in the hopes of copping what may forecasters predict will be the next sold-out collaborative collection. The British based Jimmy Choo will be launching a collection for both men and women, in around 200 H&M location worldwide, which will include of course shoes, handbags, and a capsule evening wear line. According to reports there will be 12 shoe models for women, which will be available in two colorways – along with four models for men. Prices for the shoes will go for around $55 – $138, while the handbags will go for around $276….(blank stare). I don’t know about you….but I can’t get past the $276 price mark for a H&M handbag – no matter who collaborated with the company. It’s unrealistic in my book – especially when it comes from H&M! Perhaps, we should stay tuned for upcoming previews before we all jump the gun. Ladies, what do you think about the idea of Jimmy Choo collaborating with H&M? Do we love it?

Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday ladies….your girl has been scrambling around town in preparation of my big day. And in the midst of it all, I’ve been stressed! Like usual my brain tends to go right…then straight back to left in regards to this seasons most notable trends. If anything we’ve pretty much eye balled the latest trends only to throw some shade in dismay, or give the whimsical eye on certain things. One trend in particular really has me scratching my head…wondering if trend forecasters have really taken the time to fully observe the “Strong Shoulder” look. We’ve seen the look attempted by only a few celebrities. Now I can’t say that I will be one to roll with this one particular trend, but Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney along with a list of other top tiered designers have taken the chance on bringing the “Golden Girls” look back in full throttle. However, we can fully admit that this trend isn’t for everyone….especially if you have poor posture. And let’s face it….how many of us really pay attention to how much we slouch on a daily basis? I know for a fact that I don’t realize it, unless I am standing in front of a huge mirror. How do you ladies feel about this trend? And if given the chance would you consider giving it a test run?

Let me tell you that procrastination is a killer. For months I’ve been eye-balling Christopher Kane’s series of primate inspired dresses that literally caught my attention. But thanks to my daily activities….it totally slipped my mind to even do a post regarding them. Then here comes the one and only…Rihanna to step out on the streets of NYC in one of Kane’s absolutely fabulous dresses. Hey, it was bound to happen….and you ladies know it! Rihanna’s new glam squad has been laying down the format on trend worthy picks! I hope that other celebrity stylists are taking notes! Any who….after hunting around the web at was once available for the past few months is now SOLD OUT at most retailers! I know….it’s a shame! Especially for such a hot dress! Besides….the weird NYC weather will do a 360 in a matter of a week or so. Which means no one in their right mind will be seen outside in city summer heat – rocking long sleeves. Oh but wait!
