Trend Report: Denim Hues 2010
Denim, what is there to say other than it has to be the quintessential must have item to have in your entire wardrobe. Whoever deems it necessary to live without a pair of denim must have one boring outlook on fashion. There are just so many brands & interesting styles to choose from! Skinny jeans have had its share of pro’s and cons seen on various body types, leaving fashion junkies in a constant battle behind the trend as a whole. I on the other hand still battle (at times) with the skinny jean – but can vouch heavily on rocking them with a pair of calf-length boots. Then comes the re-birth of the ever so popular boyfriend jean, which I have to say that I wasn’t really feeling at first. Thanks to the saggy crotch & awkward fit. But I can always welcome that comfort factor that looks pretty decent paired with a perfectly tailored tuxedo blazer, casual T-shirt, or anything that may bring our “of the runway” casual sense of style. Oh yes, and who can forget about those distressed denim styles, that always manage to leave us in a confused state. Whereas you’ve contemplated on going full throttle with the idea of splurging (on the latest brands) just to keep up with the fast paced fashion realm. You best resort is to take at least $25 to your nearest Goodwill , find that right already worn denim piece, a bottle of Tide, and give your washing machine one hell of a ride. Denim clad chambray shirts are definitely making it’s point this season, matched against either leggings or straight leg jeans finishing off the look with a chunky buckled belt. And let us not forget the various array of denim dresses that are out on the market – take your pick! This season, denim forecasters are already going stir crazy with the looks that they feel are best for this season. I’ve already read that this season’s trend ideas are to mix medium-light denims with supple & yet rugged colored brown accessories & footwear, and to avoid anything tie-dyed or acid washed. But this isn’t Vogue…nor Elle…this is TrendDoll.com! So I’ll be the first to let you know that you should work your denim well into your vibrant personality! Just try avoiding neon-colored clad denims please! Check out some of my favorite picks for this season Denim Trend Reporting after the jump!

Miley Cyrus Customized Siwy Jeans
Ah, the life of a celebrity never seems dull. At least that’s what the paparazzi show us on a daily basis. So when Miley Cyrus was spotted shopping at Maxfield, everyone was curious as to know what jeans she was wearing. They so happen to be a pair of customized Siwy Rose Drain Pipe Skinny Jeans, customized by stylist Simone Harouche. Harouche is also known for customizing jeans for Ashley Tisdale as well. I am all for distressed denim, I love the look which works so well with casual attire. However, I feel a bit ambivalent about Miley’s customized look. It looks a tad bit over processed & exaggerated. Distressed denim is definitely a trend that isn’t going anywhere any time soon, so we just have to get used to what is currently available in the market place. You already know DIY distressed denim is a favorite of mine….and costs far less. What do you ladies think of Miley’s customized Siwy jeans? Would you consider rocking them? Be sure to check out some of the various distressed looks after the jump!

2010 Fashion Trends
If you haven’t noticed the weather reports as of late, or felt the eerie bone chilling weather in your neck of the woods. Then that obviously means you’ve been snuggling up next to a warm heater with a big smile on your face. And if you’ve stepped foot out on the streets of NYC, during this arctic blast we all like to call the winter season, then you already know that women are bundling up from head to toe. The winter months are really a tricky considering that your own line of defense is your winter coat, warm boots, & other quintessential winter accessories. I totally doubt, if you take the chance to notice what anyone is wearing once that cold chill hits your brow. But what I’ve been noticing (behind the screen) is that some of our favorite celebrities have scrolled back into the archives on us. It’s all about the capes. And if you are thinking that you’d might look like a superhero instead of a fashion forward debutante, let me tell you right now that you’d better pause and reconsider the notion. And yes, I am well aware that there are some styles of capes that should be banned and never seen again. Oddly enough, those are usually the styles of capes that may be spotted on the backs of Lady Gaga or better yet Mischa Barton (seen above). So you’re probably wondering what good would a cape do for your winter/pre-spring wardrobe….right? And my answer is EVERYTHING! The hardest issue about the winter season, has to be the nightlife attire – and how to blend your outerwear with your inner-wear. Think about the many of occasions where you’ve been forced to wear a dress during the chilling days of the winter! Come on who want’s to be spotted wearing a bubble down coat with fancy attire? I’ve scanned the web for some of the more interesting looks to the today’s “caped theory”, so be sure to click your way through the list after the jump!

CHANEL Valentines 2010 Chanel Valentine’s Day 2010 Collection – (Bag Files #010)
We’re only a week into the new year, and many of us have fast forwarded ourselves to the month of February. Simply because we anticipate what we’ll be receiving from our loved ones come Valentine’s Day. And if you are without a Valentine, there is no need to throw on the shade. How about trying to develop a warm spot for yourself….and splurge a little. But if you so happen to have a significant other, and are in need of throwing them a subtle hint – try spelling out Chanel. Every year many of our favorite brands create a small limited edition collection of holiday novelty products (as we already know). And Chanel has done it again, by giving us a dose of that quilted flavor that we’ve all grown to love. Think pink, quilted, and adorned in charms. Spring 2010 Trends
Yesterday my good friend dropped by my apartment in the middle of the morning. She was casually dressed down to the bone, sporting her fedora, heavy peacoat trench-styled, jacket, Dr Martens, matched against her normal everyday bright smile. But I couldn’t help but to zoom in on her eyes. See, my dear friend has a thing for false eyelashes. She claims that wearing false eyelashes is just as addictive as applying layers of lip gloss. Naturally I had to process the thought of even wearing false eyelashes. Not only do I have bad habit of plucking my natural eye lashes away, but I began to wonder if I’d end up having the same problem if I gave this little trend a try. In the middle of the afternoon I made my way to the local drug store to see what options were available. It was pretty basic as far as the selections go – so I proceeded to the nearest exit. On my way home, I continued to think about the theory of sporting eyelashes….and thought about the looks of dramatic styles that I’ve seen over many months back. Amber Rose took on feather styled lashes, while Karl Lagerfeld took sequin lashes to the runway for Chanel’s fall ’09 ready-to-wear collection. Automatically Shu Uemura came to mind. Not only do they have a serious collection of premium lashes on hand at select retail outlets. But there are so many interesting options to choose from that would fit well from season to season. Crystals, beads, high fusions colorways….you name it Shu Uemura has it. Check out some of my favorite dramatic false eye lashes picks after the jump.
